The Atkins Diet Food List, Killer or Cure

The most important lesson to learn when it comes to your body is that it wants to have a boring and mundane existence. You may not believe me but if you have a pet, this is often one of the first fundamental lessons that the pet care guide highlights for their long-term health, are we really such a special species that this does not apply to us?
The Atkins diet food list is centered on this idea.
However before we discuss the actual foods that will keep your body happy and most importantly healthy, there is a very important mental attitude change that must occur, if you are truly going to achieve the physical and spiritual health that you so desire.
Just trying the Atkins diet is not an option, you must decide to be all in and adopt this as the basis for your long-term lifestyle. This is not a short-term fix but a long-term plan to achieve and maintain your weight and health at your desired level.
Once you have accepted this, then you can begin your journey to a stable lifestyle, which will allow you to get the most out of your time on this planet.
As Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826) stated in his Physiologie du Gout (physiology of Taste)1. To avoid obesity, it is advisable not to consume high starch, sugar and floury foods. he recommended focusing instead on the components that comprise the staples in a low carb diet. This was written over 180 years ago and still holds true today, so is the low carb lifestyle a new and passing fad?
What of the foods that are recommended in today's modern low carb lifestyle, have we lost this lesson from the past and created a deadly diet?
In the initial stage which is called induction, you are limited to 20 carbohydrates per day. This may not sound a lot and it is impossible on a modern diet but if you eat real food in real proportions then this is not only possible but also very easy.
The focus of your diet will be on eggs, simple meat and plenty of vegetables and liquid. When I do this stage I normally have an omelet in the morning as this is very quick and easy, which is followed up at lunch time with a salad. This is no meager salad either as this comprises, a simple meat like tuna or chicken, tomatoes, spinach, cheese, mushrooms and full fat mayonnaise.
Well so far does this sound like it is going to kill you?
For tea, I will have either a couple of 100% beef burgers or a choice from beef, pork or chicken combined with sprouts. These are one of my favorite vegetables as they taste just as good if not better when eaten raw. They are of course the green mush of school dinner nightmares but prepared properly they are a fantastic natural multi-vitamin, with over 20% of your daily vitamin C and K targets. They also contain a level of almost all the other essential vitamins and minerals2.
Ultimately for your long-term health, your focus should be on eating a balanced diet based on protein rich foods, vegetables and a limited amount of fruit and dairy products. Conventional wisdom and the conglomerates that sponsor them, have no interest in the low carb diet as this endangers their profits and those of their shareholders.
Your focus should be on detaching your eating habits form your emotions and the shareholders interests.
